Arizona Folk Music

 Heritage/Folk Festival

2009 is the first year that the City of Glendale will host the Folk and Heritage Festival at the Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic area (9802 N 59th Ave, Glendale) on March 21st and 22nd. The park is a unique venue, dubbed the "crown jewel of Glendale’s parks system," and is perfectly suited for a FREE festival which will feature live acoustic music on five stages, changing every 30 minutes, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on both days.

There will be three workshop areas, with hour-long workshops on everything from playing Saws and Spoons to Finger-style guitar.

The Ballad Tree will be an informal song sharing area where everyone is invited to sing or play their music. For schedules for performances and workshops:

There will be a petting zoo for the kids, children’s music, and workshops for them too.

The park will have the Blacksmith on site to give demonstrations of the forge, and there will be tours of the main house. In this park setting there are live chickens and peacocks on the grounds, so plan to bring the family and make a day of it!

Food vendors will be on site, or bring a picnic lunch! For history of the Ranch, go to this website:
